Settled in Bury

Hello lovely

I´m finally here. I´m so incredibly happy and grateful for my new start here in Bury. I already have a few ideas for new blog posts so stay tuned. I can´t wait to show you my life here. I thought I could start with my bedroom first. It´s a beautiful room with lots of light. The walls have just been plastered and I actually like it as it is now. The ceiling is up next and then the walls have to be painted. We´re thinking maybe a light grey-blue or a soft pinkish coral colour. Gillian bought me a beautiful bed from a stately home in Norwich. The mattress arrives today, yay! I`m planning to weed out the front garden while I wait for the delivery. That way we get a slightly nicer front house and I won´t miss the delivery people. Gillian is working the entire day and won’t be back before the evening.

I absolutely love the fireplace, it´s covered with floral carvings which give the room a feminine feel. The mirror is bought in a charity shop for 8 pounds (bargain!).

Some gifts from Lydia and Anne. Sparkling wine from Alsace (one of my all-time favourite wine areas), beeswax candles and dried sage. Apparently, you can use it to «cleanse» your new home, so I`ll do that today. It´s supposed to be stress-relieving too. I found this interesting article about burning sage, you can take a look at it here.

Right, I have to continue writing some job applications. Hope you have a good day.

The dress is from Zara

Do you remember the feeling you had when your mother bought you a new outfit for a birthday party or a wedding? That super cute dress that you were dying to wear but had to save for special days? If your nodding, you probably had it hanging on the outside of your wardrobe so that you could glance at it. I have a dress like that now. It´s hanging on a picture in front of my bed. I can´t wait to wear it; I`ll be wearing nude heels and flowers in my hair. At the end of July, we will have a wedding here.  I Can´t tell you more I´m afraid, but Stephanie and I are going for a full Pinterest style wedding. The things you do for love and a tv-crew!

A sneak peek into Stephanie´s dressingroom

Love this pretty face

I had the exciting opportunity to have a look around in Stephanie´s dressing room not so long ago! I´ve always been fascinated by Stephanie’s personality and the thought of sneaking into her dressing room have been on my wish list for a while. She has been teasing us with her beautiful collection of morning robes ever since I arrived to the Chateau, and that’s enough to start a fascination for her sense of fashion. As you all might know already, Stephanie is a ray of bright sunshine and her clothes are no exception. Here are some pictures of my private tour:

I absolutely adore Stephanie’s style. Her clothes really reflect her colourful and vibrant personality.  Every day at Lalande is a colorful day, especially with Stephanie around.
