in collaberation with @thebathflowerschool

Hello lovelies. It´s been a little while since I´ve written a blog post. I hope you all are well? As some of you may know I was recently in Bath in Somerset attending the Advanced Wedding Masterclass Course hosted by The Bath Flower School.
I have been following Bath Flower School´s Instagram stories for a while now, and It´s safe to say I´ve been eager to attend one of their courses, so you can imaigne my excitment when I finally got the oppertunity to do a collaboration with them.

As I walked through the doors I was met with the most beautiful display of autumnal colours. Verity and Saffy welcomed us with a warm smile and a good cup of tea. We started off with a round of introductions and jumped straight into all things wedding theory. It was so refreshing to share experiences with other florists, who also have a passion for what they do. After lunch we finally got to work with the beautiful flower selection that Verity & Saffy had chosen for us. We all made a bridal bouquet each which we could take home with us!

I just love these ribbons from Heirloomsilks, so stunning. We practiced wiring of buttonholes and flower crowns on day 2, which was great for me as I haven´t done that sort of wiring since my days back at flower school in Norway. The wiring did take a while and it made me realise how one would charge for this type of work because you do spend a lot of time doing these types of flower crowns. I did see some progress in how quickly I could do them but they still take a while to make. Practice makes perfect though.!

One of the most important lessons I learned during my course was that I had to un-learn a technique in order for me to create a more looser and natural style with my bouquets. I realised that I actully do not need as many flowers as I think I do and that there aren´t any “rules” to how one should make a bouquet. This was a very eye opening experience which I am so greatful to have had.

This was such a fantastic ending to our lovely week, especially when we got to have our own bridal bouquets and table centres photographed by a professional wedding photographer. I can´t wait to see the photos.
I had such a lovely time and I will be back again for more courses. Thank you for allowing me to grow and feel more confident in my work Verity & Saffy. You are both the sweetest people one can ever meet and I wish your new flower school adventure lots of success for the future.
